Our guides explain Indian law in plain language. Each one is checked against the official text of the law and court websites, carries a “last reviewed” date, and lists its sources. Guides are general information, not legal advice for your situation.
How guides are written
- Every guide starts from the questions people actually ask on Google about that problem.
- Each answer is checked against the official text of the Act on India Code and, where relevant, leading court judgments.
- Each guide names the laws and sections it relies on and links to its sources.
- Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed. We review guides when the law changes and at least once a year.
What our guides are not
- They are not legal advice and do not create a lawyer–client relationship.
- They do not recommend or promote any advocate.
- They are not sponsored. No one pays to be mentioned in a guide.
